No-one pays us to write our websites and blog. No-one pays us to write particular content or review particular products or mention something specific. We developed our sites with a variety of purposes – mainly sharing information, hosting online shops that pay a commission, plus advertising our photographs and other services (garden design, web-related services). If we include a posting not written by ourselves (and possibly paid for by a writer or PR company), that is made clear at the end of the posting with ‘this post is brought to you by/from…’.
Additionally, our pages have some third-party advertising and some links that pay us a commission on sales and sign-ups. But we do write our content first, then look for links to include because we think they are interesting or useful or both. And some of these pay.
