I provide a website customisation and/or installation service, using WordPress because it provides a straightforward user-friendly website with easily updatable content (pages, blog posts, images, maps and videos). Being able to amend your own website yourself is important because you can react quickly if needed, and ensure information is current (so no more outdated prices or descriptions).
WordPress is free, with a wide range of ‘themes’ (ready-made templates), and is suitable for organisations and individuals. The software itself is in constant development by WordPress, ensuring that it keeps up with the latest Internet technology and security.
WordPress is relatively easy to set up if you have the right skills, experience and persistence, but if not, with my help, you can still have a cost-effective website. Contact me now, with no obligation. Not only are the sites I create owner-friendly, they are visitor friendly too, with a clear message and navigation. When working with you, I communicate frequently with updates on progress, and ensure I meet your deadlines.
This is what I concentrate on doing
If what you want is not in the list, please ask me:
Setting up WordPress websites and blogs from scratch, with static and interactive pages, maps and routes, images, video clips and email contact form
- Prevention of email spam (with a captcha)
- Transferring static non-flexible webpages to a dynamic WordPress system
- Moving a current WordPress system to another domain
- Installing WordPress on an independent host
- Changing WordPress designs (by changing WordPress style sheets)
- Updating WordPress versions (while ensuring no loss of data)
- Writing WordPress plug-ins (i.e. computer coding to achieve a specific add-on function to the website)
- Ensuring sites work properly on major web browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari)
- Ensuring organic search engine optimisation (SEO)
- Ensuring web standards (for speed of loading and for accessibility by all users)
- Complying with the new cookie/privacy laws
- Adding Google Analytics
- Monetising websites with Adsense and affiliate links
- Adding PayPal button.
To create or change your website…
…once you’ve checked that your web host provides the space needed, I will then need access to some parts of your web hosting account, or preferably, access to the control panel. If you don’t know what any of this means, don’t worry as I can explain more, and can find out on your behalf if necessary.
